Welcome to my personal photography website! I'm Marius van der Sandt, and I live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I love to travel around, to experience the diversity of our world, and to share those experiences with others by taking photographs.

The power of photography emanates from the limitation of reality. There are thousands of different techniques that can be used to take a particular picture, but what you photograph is and will always be reality. A picture that excites our imagination can be that impressive because what is shown on that picture is the photographer's personal interpretation of an existing subject somewhere on this planet. This interpretation, which can sometimes seem very abstract and surrealistic, shows the beauty and diversity of the world around us. In my opinion that is what photography is about.

All photographs on this website are taken with Nikon 35 mm equipment and a variety of Fuji transparency emulsions, mostly Velvia. By the way, the best resolution for this website is 1024 x 768 pixels. If you're watching my galleries, you can press F11 to avoid scrolling.
